An exploration of personal alignment and mobility. Salutations, standing and floor shapes are explored. Props are widely used to help us find variations that fit our bodies. Think of class as movement basics and yoga foundations on which to build your practice.

Flowing movement is synchronized to the breath. Class is fun, challenging, and creative.

Mobility Flow

Mobility Flow: A combination of multiple mobility methods of active stretching, bodyweight strength training, rolling, and prop use. We’ll find ways to release muscle pain and increase quality of movement to create more ease in the body and a greater understanding of how we can move efficiently in our day-to-day lives. Many yoga techniques, rest, and mindfulness are also applied.

Primary Series

The Ashtanga Primary (or 1st) Series involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures - a process producing an intense internal heat. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.

Mix Up

Mix-up does just that: we mix shapes from both the 1st and 2nd Series into one fun, intricate flow. Arm balances, handstands, headstands, and backbends are often explored.

Do you regularly practice the Ashtanga Primary Series? Looking for hands-on assists, community, and space for your own practice? Mysore style of practice means you guide yourself through Ashtanga practices, with a teacher present for assistance and answers to questions you might have. This is the perfect session for anyone familiar with the forms, but wants to go at their own pace, skip shapes, or add to the practice as needed in a group, with assistance, helping build consistency.
